I am available to book for events in schools, libraries and for festivals
I’ve done small workshops on creative writing to large assemblies for groups of up to 200 children and online events (such as Mr Dilly Presents) with 600 children from schools across the UK on a livestreamed panel.
What I offer –
-Assembly style interactive session with years 3/4/5/6 to talk about my book, my inspiration of India, stories in general, a quiz about India and how to craft a magical adventure story (1 hour)
-Class workshops based on year group interest, could include crafting (design your own dream creature, make a bottle of dream threads) for younger children (years 3/4) or a story writing workshop around world and character building (years 5-8).
–Panels to talk about children’s fiction, magical adventures, inclusive books and storywriting for older children (For fellow writers and children’s book enthusiasts!).
Testimonials:
- ‘Nazima entertained, informed and inspired the children talking about her life and being an author. She expertly co-constructed a fantasy narrative, drawing on the children’s ideas, and then deconstructed the process to reveal the writing techniques behind it. Every child enjoyed the session and was excited and engaged. We would like to thank Nazima for her time and inspiring the children at Springfield Junior School.’
- “We were delighted to welcome the author Nazima Pathan to the Larch Centre. Nazima spoke to years 4, 5 and 6 about her new book Dream Hunters and showed students how to create their own fantasy adventures with the essential ingredients of characters, maps and magical tools in an interactive session, followed by a book signing. “
- “Thank you so much for giving the Year 6 writers such an inspiring and thought-provoking workshop. The children loved it and have come up with some fantastic ideas for the creative writing competition.” Perse Prep School
- “Thank you again for coming to visit us & for spending lunchtime with the reading ambassadors too. I’ve attached a variety of photos from the day plus a message I received this week from a year 3 child. ” Scarning Primary School
